Enable students to understand the context of the professional accountancy framework and to enhance their employability skills. The final year dissertation will allow you to utilise all previously learnt knowledge and apply it to a self-designed research study within the subject area. You’ll be assessed through individual reports, business plans, group presentations and seen/unseen exams. Some modules will require you to produce an e-portfolio including real-life investigations and tasks. This course received a 90% overall student satisfaction score in the National Student Survey 2021, making us third in the UK for business and management. Candidates who have completed the Título Intermedio (2-3 years) can be considered for first and/or second year entry, depending on subject fit. We may accept your English language grade from the Norwegian Vitnemål fra den Videregående Skole if you achieved 3 in English. Applicants with a GCSE English grade 4/C equivalent or a degree from the University of Malta are exempt from taking an English proficiency test. If you are a student of any other college and you wish to be considered for second year entry, you must submit your full transcript and a copy of the syllabus you have followed so that we can assess your suitability. We may also accept your English language grade from the German Abitur if you achieved 10 in English (taken as an achievement/main/ intensive course. Please note this is only valid for 2 academic years after qualification. We may accept your English language grade from the French Baccalauréat de l’Enseignement du Second Degré if you achieved 14 or above.

The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the basic concepts used in the preparation of financial information and to introduce them to the forms of financial statements that managers need to be familiar with. In addition, the module will introduce learners to appropriate forms of finance and the means of raising money to fund new enterprises, the financial planning this entails and forms of feedback and accountability to actual and potential fund providers. The module seeks to achieve all of the above in the context of start-up or growth firms. It is deliberately non-technical in nature, in other words it tries, as far as possible, to avoid unnecessary technical jargon or complexities.
