Applied Ethics is a field of ethics that deals with ethical questions in various fields such as medicine, engineering, law, and business ethics. Business ethics can be a discipline both normative and descriptive. As a corporate practice and career specialization, this field is mainly normative.

One form of applied business ethics is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept that organizations, especially companies, have a responsibility towards consumers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of the company’s operations (source: Wikipedia ) CSR is closely related to “sustainable development”, where there is an argument that a company in carrying out its activities must base its decisions not only on financial factors, such as profits or dividends but must also be based on social and environmental consequences for now and for the long term.

Ethics in Business

If moral is something that encourages people to do good, ethics act as signs (sign) which is a voluntary agreement of all members of a group. A moral business world will be able to develop ethics (standards/signs) that guarantee business activities that are balanced, harmonious and harmonious. Ethics assigns in a community group will be able to guide and remind members of a good conduct that must always be obeyed and implemented. Ethics in business certainly must be agreed upon by people in business groups and other related groups.

In creating business ethics, there are several things that need to be considered, including:

1. Self-control This means that business people and related parties are able to control themselves to get nothing from anyone and in any form. In addition, business people themselves do not benefit by playing a fraud and pressuring others and using profits by cheating and pressuring other parties and using these benefits even though the benefits are the rights of business people, but their use must also pay attention to the conditions of the surrounding community. This is “ethical” business ethics.
2. Development of social responsibility. Business people here are required to care about the condition of society, not only in the form of “money” by making donations but more complex. This means that as an example of the opportunity owned by business people to sell at a high price level when the occurrence of excess demand must be a concern and concern for business people by not taking advantage of this opportunity to reap multiple profits. So, in the state of excess demand business, people must be able to develop and manifest responsibility towards the surrounding community.
