Apply for funding to work with researchers in Japan in the fields of neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases and dementia. We are looking for internationally competitive, full-scale collaborative and innovative partnerships. MRC funds research at the forefront of science to prevent illness, develop therapies and improve human health. There are many ways you can get involved as a healthcare professional or a member of the public.

Students develop essential research skills through an independent research project. There are no compulsory elements of this course that entail additional costs beyond fees and living costs. However, as part of your course requirements, you may need to choose a dissertation, a project or a thesis topic.

These deadlines apply to applications for courses starting in Michaelmas 2022, Lent 2023 and Easter 2023. Students complete three essays over the course of 9 months, working closely with supervisors to address a range of topics covered by the core and optional modules. They will also write a dissertation on a topic of their choice, refined in consultation with their supervisor. Dissertation seminars give students the opportunity to gain experience in presenting their own work and discussing the issues that arise from it with an audience of their peers and senior members of staff. Some students like to purchase their own text books or print course documents and we suggest allowing approximately £200 per year for this. Upon successful completion of 180 credits, you will be awarded an MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health. Upon successful completion of 120 credits, you will be awarded a PG Dip in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health.
