You can visit our 16-day Summer Festival and enjoy world class music and art in this beautiful and historic corner of England, which encompasses the ancient ports of Deal, Sandwich and Dover. You can participate in one or more of our education programmes, or you can work with us as a volunteer, becoming part of the Deal Music & Arts family. We’re home to a flourishing arts community and offer a wide range of classes, groups and musical ensembles.
Gather at intimate tables with friends, dance late into the evening and fall into sumptuous sofas to soak up the magic. All levels of Arts Award involve a degree of participation, reflection and gathering evidence appropriate to the level. Evidence can be provided by children and young people in a wide range of formats including written evidence and/or illustrations; blogs; social media; audio and visual recording; as well as Makaton, signs and symbols. We offer free resources to support evidencing Arts Award, and centres can develop their own methods.

We are part of Arts Together because as a small charity, we know how useful it is to collaborate, be part of something bigger and to learn from others. We are also able to provide on site CPD and wellbeing sessions for teachers and support staff. LU Arts is committed to inclusivity and representing the student community we serve. In May 2021 UMAT presented their first outdoor Jazz event at St John’s Church Garden Waterloo. This not for profit group was founded by vocalist Stephen Pierre in March 2018. Recently, the Exeter College JCR has given money to help fund student productions such as Pussyfooting in 2016, a play which explored gender and performed femininity, and subsequently found success at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Music, arts and culture
Earlier this year, the event staged its belated fifth anniversary celebrations in the scenic foothills of the Grampians. An all-star cast of international and national DJs joined revellers at the outing, which took place at the tail-end of Australian summertime. The scholarships must be in addition to your course – so if you study Fine Art you can’t apply for support for your artistic practice which is linked to your degree course.
While there’s an emphasis on soul, guests can enjoy a heady mix of R&B, dance, jazz, hip hop, blues and pop throughout the year. Headline performances are programmed alongside emerging artists, providing an opportunity to experience world-class talent in an intimate space. From The Beach Boys to Basement Jaxx, Jessie Ware, Jax Jones, Tom Misch and Trevor Nelson; enjoy an eclectic lineup, beautifully curated by The Arts Club’s inhouse music team. For instance, we are now offering a filming & editing service for our projects allowing schools to share the special experiences of their pupils with their communities despite the ongoing restrictions.
